High range drink driver at Hervey Bay, QLD

Police have charged a man with high range drink driving after allegedly being caught almost five times the legal alcohol limit at Hervey Bay this morning, Queensland Police say.

Around 8.10am, it will be alleged a 63-year-old man fell from his scooter at an apartment complex on Boat Harbour Drive in Torquay.

It will further be alleged, police conducted a breath test where the driver provided a positive result and was transported to Hervey Bay Police Station for further testing.

At Hervey Bay Police Station, it is alleged the man provided a breath alcohol concentration of 0.222%.

He has been charged with driving under the influence of liquor and will appear in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on October 18.
