High range drink driver caught in Yambuk

Police intercepted an alleged drink driver in Yambuk yesterday

Officers stopped a 2003 silver BMW sedan after it was seen driving erratically on the Princes Highway around 6.20pm.

The 32-year-old male driver from Laang returned a positive evidentiary breath test of .319.

His licence was immediately suspended, and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1,325.

The driver will be summons to court where it is expected that he will lose his licence for more than 5 years due to a previous conviction for drink driving.
