Police arrested a 57-year-old woman in Devonport on Friday night (31 July) for drink-driving allegedly more than five times the legal limit.
The Devonport woman was intercepted by police on Turton Street about 9:40pm having been observed leaving the Devonport RSL, driving slowly along the street and the vehicle veering over the road.
On interception, police allege the driver mounted the kerb before being able to stop her vehicle.
At the station, police allege the driver registered a blood alcohol content of 0.281 per 210 litres of breath, more than five times the legal limit of .05.
The woman was charged with driving a motor vehicle while exceeding the prescribed alcohol limit and driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor. She will appear in court at a later date.
Police are extremely concerned by the woman's behaviour, with Friday night's arrest coming after she had five previous drink-driving offences.
