High range speed detection Gold Coast

A man has been detected allegedly speeding at 77 kilometres over the speed limit at Main Beach overnight, Queensland Police say.

It is alleged around 8.15pm a luxury sports coupe was detected by police at a speed of 147 kilometres in a 70 kilometre zone on the Gold Coast Highway near Admiralty Drive.

A 41-year-old man from Paradise Point has been issued with an infringement notice and an automatic six month licence suspension.
