Detectives from the Acacia Ridge Criminal Investigation Branch have charged a man with several serious weapons and domestic violence offences following a disturbance at Pallara yesterday, 8 December.
It will be alleged that around 3:40am, officers were called to a Ritchie Road address following reports of a disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers conducted a search of the property where they located a 29-year-old man at the back of the residence, who was taken into custody.
A 21-year-old woman was located nearby who was not physically injured.
Following a search of the address, it will be further alleged that officers located four makeshift firearms and ammunition, as well as a quantity of methamphetamine, gamma-hydroxybutyric acid (GHB) and drug utensils.
The man has been charged with six counts each of unlawful possession of a motor vehicle, possess dangerous drugs, three counts each of receiving tainted property, possess drug utensil, two counts each of unlawful possession of weapons Category D/H/R, unlawful possession of weapons Category A/B/M, authority required to possess explosives, possess relevant thing, and one count each of common assault (domestic violence offence), choking suffocation strangulation domestic relationship (domestic violence offence), wilful damage (domestic violence offence), unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
The man is expected to appear before Richlands Magistrates Court today, 9 December.
