Small and micro-business owners across The Hills now have access to FREE digital skills training and resources after The Hills Shire Council was selected as a partner in the Australian Government's Digital Solutions Program.
The program provides local businesses with access to government-funded digital training, mentoring and tools designed to enhance productivity, strengthen competitiveness and support business growth.
Delivered by the Australian School of Employment, the program helps small business owners build practical digital skills through a range of online workshops, webinars and other resources covering:
- Digital marketing and social media
- Website and online presence improvements
- AI and digital tools
- Cyber security
- Business systems and automation
- Productivity and operational efficiency
Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne, said the partnership reflects Council's commitment to supporting the Hills Shire's business community in a rapidly changing digital landscape.
"The Hills is home to more than 27,000 businesses, and almost 98 per cent are small businesses," Mayor Byrne said.
"Digital technology and AI are transforming the way businesses operate, market themselves and connect with customers.
"This program gives local business owners access to affordable expert advice to help them build confidence, save time, improve efficiency and identify new opportunities for growth.
"Whether you're looking to strengthen your online presence, improve your marketing, streamline operations or better understand AI, this program provides practical support that can make a real difference."
As part of the partnership, businesses can also access the Hills Digital Learning Hub, a library of short, on-demand video tutorials and step-by-step implementation checklists that help businesses quickly put new skills into practice. Topics include improving websites, strengthening online visibility, automating repetitive tasks, enhancing cyber security and using AI more effectively.
Business owners seeking more personalised advice can also access up to five hours of one-on-one mentoring, valued at $1,995, for a discounted rate of $110.
