Hillary Clinton wins Virgin Islands democratic contest

US presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton won the Democratic party caucuses in the Virgin Islands on Saturday, according to the party’s official figures.

Seven pledged delegates were up for grabs at the caucuses. Ahead of Saturday, Clinton was leading the race against her key Democratic rival Bernie Sanders with 2,313 delegates, while Sanders had 1,547.

On Sunday, the two Democrats will vie for delegates in Puerto Rico. They are both on a campaign trail in California, the most populous in the United States, ahead of the primary election on June 7.
