The Hills is set to shine this festive season with a magical line-up of Christmas events, including dazzling light displays, a one-night-only Christmas market, and a joyful family fun day featuring a visit from Santa Claus himself.
The festivities kick off on Sunday, 30 November, with the Illuminate The Hills Christmas Markets at the Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Rose Garden in Baulkham Hills. From 5pm, visitors can stroll through a glowing wonderland of fairy lights and festive installations, meet Santa, Mrs Claus and a gingerbread man, enjoy live carollers, and shop from over 40 boutique stalls.
Food trucks will be on-site serving up delicious treats to keep bellies full and the holiday cheer going.
The light displays will continue to enchant residents and visitors nightly from 1 December 2025 to 1 January 2026, transforming the much-loved rose garden into a twinkling spectacle from 7pm every evening. The garden will be home to a six-metre walk through Christmas tree, nativity scene, light-up Christmas selfie frame, walk through gingerbread house, star displays and more.
The Christmas magic doesn't stop there. On Sunday, 7 December, families are invited to the Mayor's Children's Christmas Party at Bella Vista Farm from 10am to 2pm. This event is open to all residents and visitors and will be packed with festive fun. Attendees will enjoy a visit from Santa Claus, FREE face painting, cookie decorating, Christmas crafts, inflatable games, and more. Rides, food and drinks will also be available for purchase.
Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne, said the events are a wonderful way to bring the community together and celebrate the season.
"It's heartwarming to see our community come together to celebrate Christmas right here in the Hills," Mayor Byrne said.
"Join me for the big switch-on at Illuminate The Hills, explore the sparkling displays, and buy some Christmas presents from the one-night only Christmas market. Then come along to my Children's Christmas Party, where we will have Christmas themed crafts and a special visit from Santa."
