Hills Shire Council Finalises Agritourism DCP Amendments

In accordance with Council's Resolution from the Council Meeting of 14 May 2024, amendments will soon come into force to Part B Section 1 – Rural and Part C Section 1 – Parking of The Hills Development Control Plan (DCP) 2012. These changes seek to ensure appropriate development outcomes are achieved and mitigate any potential impacts of agritourism activities on rural character and amenity.

The proposed DCP amendments have been guided by the Department's Model DCP Clauses for agritourism and consideration for controls already in force in other comparable local government areas. However, they have been refined and tailored to suit local circumstances.

These amendments will come into force on the date that the associated planning proposal amendments are gazetted on the NSW Legislation website.
