Hino Previews Line-Up For Japan Mobility Show

Hino Motors, Ltd. is set to present a range of its next-generation products at the upcoming Japan Mobility Show, which will be held in Tokyo from 30th October to 9th November 2025.

On display will be the Hino Profia Z FCV (Fuel Cell Vehicle) which will be Japan's first mass-produced heavy-duty commercial fuel cell vehicle when it is released on 24th October.

"It is capable of a loaded driving range of approximately 650 kilometres with fast hydrogen refuelling taking between 15 to 30 minutes," said Daniel Petrovski, Department Manager – Product Strategy for Hino Australia said of the truck which is known as 700 Series in Australia.

The Profia Z FCV on display will be equipped with the Level 4 autonomous driving feature, which means the heavy-duty truck is capable of full driverless operation under specific conditions.

Also on the Hino stand will be the latest model of the Hino Dutro (300 Series) Z EV light-duty truck, which is scheduled for release in mid-2026.

"The ultra-low floor and walk-through layout of the Dutro Z EV have proven popular with customers since its release in June 2022, and the new model will feature larger battery capacity that will increase the distance between charges," said Mr Petrovski.

The Dutro Z EV is currently undergoing trials in Australia to ascertain its operational suitability for the unique Australian market requirements.

Of particular interest to the Australian truck market will the first public exhibition of the updated Hino Ranger (or 500 Series) medium-duty truck at the Japan Mobility Show.

"The 500 Series Standard Cab is a proven solution in the Australian market and we look forward to the Euro 6-compliant version in Australia in mid-2026," said Mr Petrovski.

The Hino stand will also feature Hino Team Sugawara's Dakar Rally "Little Monster" race truck from 2019, which is based on the Hino Ranger (500 Series) medium-duty truck.

"Successfully completing 34 gruelling Dakar Rallies demonstrates the QDR (Quality, Durability and Reliability) that Hino is renowned for," said Mr Petrovski.

Another vehicle on display will be the "Poncho dot" concept vehicle which is based on the Hino Dutro Z EV – its compact size aides drivability, and its unique layout means it's capable of transporting both people and goods together.

Outside the main exhibition hall, show-goers will also be able to see other unique applications of the Hino Dutro Z EV including a mobile office.
