The University of Hong Kong (HKU) successfully held its second Industry Forum on New Energy and New Materials on Wednesday, August 23. The event brought together over 100 thought leaders and participants from local and mainland China to discuss new energy and materials technologies, as well as showcase HKU's research contributions to the industry.

The morning sessions featured speakers from leading industry sectors, government, and HKU academia, who shared their insights on driving successful commercialization of new materials and technology. They also discussed advances in battery technologies and the application of new energy vehicles in the transportation sector.

In addition, a concurrent showcase zone presented 16 of HKU's relevant technology offerings to the participants. One-on-one meetings between industry representatives and HKU research groups were arranged to explore opportunities for further collaboration.

The Forum was organised by the HKU Technology Transfer Office (TTO), which manages the use of HKU's intellectual property assets by providing patenting, licensing and other commercialisation support to the University's researchers and inventors. Serving as a bridge between HKU and society in the area of technology commercialisation, TTO facilitates access to HKU's wealth of knowledge, innovation, and expertise through close collaboration with industries and businesses.
