Hodgman and Courtney have no idea when Royal beds will be open

• Government misleading Tasmanians over Royal Hobart Hospital beds

• RHH redevelopment going from bad to worse

• Tasmanians confused by wishy washy words

Will Hodgman and Sarah Courtney have no idea when new beds will be opened and available for patients at the Royal Hobart Hospital.

Shadow Health Minister, Sarah Lovell, said the Government was misleading Tasmanians with its contradictory statements.

"In September, Will Hodgman told Tasmanians the hospital would be fully open by February next year," Ms Lovell said.

Will Hodgman said:

"There will be 44 beds open straight away, when the hospital is up and running in February next year."

"Yesterday, Sarah Courtney couldn't tell the Parliament when the new building would be completed and today she couldn't answer how long the commissioning process would take and when beds would actually be opened and available for patients.

"It is obvious from the Minister's statements that not all of the 44 beds will be open in February meaning yet another broken promise from this Government.

"The health system is descending further into chaos under the Government's incompetence and management of the RHH redevelopment is going from bad to worse.

"This project is now months behind schedule and it is clear Will Hodgman and Sarah Courtney are trying to mislead Tasmanians through their wishy washy words."
