Home invasion and robbery Kings Meadows, TAS

Launceston CIB is investigating a robbery that occurred in Kay Street, Kings Meadows at 7.10am this morning, Tasmania Police say.

Police allege two male offenders wearing balaclavas forced entry to the premises and assaulted and threatened the 23-year-old female occupant.

It is believed that they were looking for a male occupant of the premises who was not present. In the process of attempting to locate the man, petrol was poured over the female victim and her two-year-old son. Threats were made to harm the occupants and burn the premises down.

When the offenders were not able to locate the person they were looking for, they left the premises, allegedly stealing a quantity of cash.  The victims have not suffered any injuries.

Launceston CIB is seeking information from anyone who may have CCTV footage or who may have observed two men in the vicinity of Kay Street.  Anyone who has any information in relation to these crimes is asked to call CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000 or crimestopperstas.com.au.
