Home invasion in Logan Reserve, QLD

Police are investigating after a number of people forced their way into home and assaulted an elderly man before stealing property in Logan Reserve this morning, Queensland Police say.

At around 1.10am unknown persons broke down the front door of the house on Chambers Flat Road and forced the occupants, an 89-year-old man and a 58-year-old woman, onto the ground in a bedroom.

One of the intruders then struck the man in the side of the face with an unknown weapon.

The group searched the residence seizing various items of property before attempting to steal the victim’s car.

They ended up fleeing the residence after breaking off a key in the car ignition.

The 89-year-old man sustained a laceration to the side of his face as a result of the incident.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have further information regarding the matter to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
