Home invasion, Wishart

Detectives are investigating a home invasion on Newnham Road in Wishart last night, November 1, where the occupants at a house were threatened with batons, knives and a shortened firearm.

Officers are investigating possible links to another incident on Newnham Road near Mount Gravatt Capalaba Road on Monday October 31, where police attended a traffic crash and received reports a handgun had been thrown into nearby bushes.

Police have since located a semi-automatic pistol in connection with that matter and investigations are ongoing. Detectives are appealing for any resident who may have seen either incident on October 31 or November 1, or who may have relevant dash-cam or CCTV footage to contact them.
