Hon Justice Emilios Kyrou AO proposed as AAT President

The Acting-Attorney-General, Senator the Hon Katy Gallagher, has announced the proposed appointment of a new President of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT).

The Hon Justice Emilios Kyrou AO is proposed to be appointed as a Judge of the Federal Court of Australia, and also as the President of the AAT. 

Justice Kyrou has served most recently as a Judge of Appeal in the Victorian Court of Appeal since 2014. Prior to that, Justice Kyrou had been appointed a Judge of the Victorian Supreme Court in 2008.

Subject to the Governor-General's approval, Justice Kyrou's appointment as AAT President would commence on 9 June 2023 for a period of 5 years.
