Hoon driver at Ridleyton has car impounded, SA

A man has had his car impounded after he was caught doing a burnout at Ridleyton yesterday, according to SA Police.

A Holden sedan had broken down on the North-South Motorway just before 12.30pm on Saturday 29 September and some road workers had stopped to assist the driver.

As the Holden drove off, the driver conducted a long burn out on the Motorway, crossing over into the path of other lanes of traffic.

The details of the car were obtained from the highway’s camera system and supplied to police where officers from the Road Policing Section followed up with the driver today.

A 24-year-old man from Pooraka was reported for driving in a dangerous manner and misuse of a motor vehicle. His vehicle was impounded for 28 days and he will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date. 19/E72577

Police are extremely disappointed that this driver chose to put other people’s lives at risks in this manner. He clearly had no regard for his own safety let alone anyone else on the road at the time. If you think this behaviour is acceptable, think again, police will not tolerate it.
