Police have charged a man with more than 30 offences, including five counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle, after investigating a number of alleged hooning incidents in Logan and Rocklea.
Around 3pm on August 30, police conducting proactive patrols observed a yellow Ford sedan on Grand Plaza Drive allegedly being driven with no registration plates.
Police approached the vehicle after it entered a business car park complex in Browns Plains, before the male driver, a 22-year-old Nundah man, allegedly ran from the scene.
After a short foot pursuit he was taken into custody and transported to Browns Plains police station.
He was later charged with one count each of driving without a licence, drive uninsured vehicle, obstruct police and driving an unregistered vehicle, and released on bail.
Further investigations into a number of alleged incidents led to police executing a search warrant at a residence on Kao Street, Marsden, on Friday (September 10). The same man was taken into custody and charged with an additional 34 alleged offences, including:
• Five counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle
• Seven counts of driving without a licence
• Six counts of driving an unregistered vehicle
• Six counts of driving an uninsured vehicle
• Four counts of offences involving registration certificate
• Two counts of stealing (allegedly stealing wheels)
• Two counts of fraud (alleged fuel drive-off offences)
• Two counts of breach of bail
He appeared in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on September 13 where he was remanded in custody and is next due to appear on October 11.
