HoopsFest Bounces Back Into Perth This Summer

As HoopsFest, the ultimate celebration of basketball, bounces back into Perth this month, the City of Perth has partnered with the NBL to turn Forrest Place into a Bounce Nation Fan Zone, where dedicated hoopers can gather, celebrate and soak up all things basketball.

For four days from 15 – 18 January, the HoopsFest Bounce Nation Fan Zone will be bursting with action, live entertainment, interactive activations, competitions and player appearances featuring some of the biggest names in Australian basketball.

A pop up half court will host open shoot arounds, skill sessions, competitions, 3x3 hustle events and a Special Olympics showcase. Fans will also have the chance to meet NBL and WNBL stars at signing sessions and community appearances.

City of Perth Deputy Lord Mayor David Goncalves said it was thrilling to add another major drawcard to Perth's jam-packed summer calendar and welcome HoopsFest back to the City after its hugely successful debut in 2024.

"HoopsFest is exactly the kind of major sporting event that adds vibrancy and excitement to our city, and it's an honour for Perth to once again host this epic celebration of basketball that brings over 150 players and their entourage from across Australia and New Zealand," Mr Goncalves said.

"Major events like HoopsFest don't just entertain - they bring people into the city, support local businesses and showcases Perth at its sporting best.

"The City is proud to support the free and family-friendly Bounce Nation Fan Zone, where people of all ages can enjoy DJs, food trucks, giveaways, merchandise, sponsor activations and family friendly activities.

"This year, the entire HoopsFest calendar of events will be hosted within the City of Perth, reinforcing our reputation as a hub for sport, culture and atmosphere. Don't miss your chance to join the action at Forrest Place, grab a bite to eat, and cheer on our home teams, the Perth Wildcats and Perth Lynx."

NBL Group's Chief Event and Project Officer, Alex Hamilton, said HoopsFest would deliver the ultimate fan experience, with the Bounce Nation Fan Zone adding an exciting layer to an unforgettable weekend.

"The Bounce Nation Fan Zone captures exactly what HoopsFest is all about, creating moments that bring people together, celebrate basketball culture and energise the whole city," she said.

"Partnering with the City of Perth allows us to deliver something genuinely special for the community, and we're excited to make Forrest Place a must visit destination throughout the festival."

Fans heading to the games can also take advantage of the three hours of free parking on weekends and public holidays in select City of Perth Parking car parks. For more details see 3-Hour Free Parking on Weekends & Public Holidays.

HoopsFest games will run from 15 – 18 January at RAC arena.
