Hope for 2021 Christmas Pageant

The 2021 Christmas pageant could still go ahead with Council seeking interest from businesses and community groups to enter a float.
The fate of this year's pageant had been in the balance due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, however staff are keen to make a late charge to get the event off the ground.
Council's General Manager, Jay Nankivell, said the event could go ahead if sufficient interest is received from the community.
"We know it's a late run to get it all organised, but we're very keen to make it happen if we have enough community groups and businesses on board," he said.
"Restrictions are set to ease significantly from December 1 and we now have staff back on deck to get the event organised.
"We'll push the event back to December 18 to give everyone more time to prepare their floats, but we'd need a commitment of at least 25 floats to make the event worthwhile.
