A Horsham dad's Monday morning took an unforgettable turn when a surprise phone call from us revealed he'd won $1.2 million in the weekend's TattsLotto draw.
The Wimmera resident held one of the five division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4577, drawn Saturday 31 May 2025. He looks forward to a total prize of $1,236,353.62.
While dodging work calls and making a quick dash to his car to grab the ticket, the Victorian had no idea he was about to discover his million-dollar win that would turn his entire week upside down.
"Wow! Wow! Okay!" he laughed.
"That's amazing! Thank you very much!
"I always wondered if I would win one day.
"This is quite amazing and sorry that I was a bit sceptical at the start of the call!
"I received a work call as soon as you called, but I had to hear what you had to say.
"I can't wait to tell my wife; she won't believe me."
With a million-dollar windfall on the horizon, the delighted dad revealed that his top priority would be helping his adult children pay off their mortgages.
"The prize will go towards providing for my kids. I'll help them with their home loans," he shared.
"I'll also put a bit in my superannuation."
His winning marked 3 x System 8 entry was purchased at Horsham Plaza Lotto, Shop 6, Horsham Plaza, Darlot Street, Horsham.
Horsham Plaza Lotto manager Mina Crooks said her team were absolutely thrilled to have sold a division one winning entry worth $1.2 million.
"We're so excited! The last time we sold a division one winning entry was in June 2019, so it's been a long time coming!" she exclaimed.
"We've been decorating the store with gold streamers and posters to announce a division one winning ticket sold in our outlet.
"We're also sharing the news with all our loyal customers. We know they'll be so excited for us and the fortunate winner!
"We wish to extend our congratulations to the division one winner and thank all of our customers for supporting Horsham Plaza Lotto."
