Hotspot extended for Mitchell Shire, lifted for Geelong and Surf Coast, Victoria

Hotspot details

At 11:59 pm yesterday, 26 September, Professor Kelly allowed the Hotspots for the purposes of Commonwealth support for the Victorian local government areas (LGAs) of the Surf Coast Shire and City of Greater Geelong to expire.

Today, Professor Kelly has extended the current Hotspot for the purpose of Commonwealth support for the Victorian LGA of Mitchell Shire, until 11:59 pm on

7 October 2021. Increasing case counts, and movement of active cases from Greater Melbourne, poses an exposure risk to the people within this community.

Professor Kelly asks people in this area to continue to follow their local Health Department directions and to book their vaccinations.
