The Housing Land Supply (Sulphur Creek) Order 2026 has been tabled in the House of Assembly.
The Order seeks to rezone 16,368m2 land adjacent to the roundabout between Preservation Drive and Bass Highway, Sulphur Creek.
Minister for Housing and Planning, Kerry Vincent, said this was about delivering more land for more houses.
"We know that freeing up more land supports housing supply," Minister Vincent said.
"This site is currently sitting vacant as Crown land, managed by the Department of State Growth.
"We want to see housing on the agenda for Sulphur Creek and I look forward to making the Order following its successful passage through Parliament.
"To further support the delivery of land for housing the Housing Land Supply (Miscellaneous Amendments) Bill 2026 was tabled in the House of Assembly in early May.
"The purpose of the Bill is to amend the Housing Land Supply Act 2018 to streamline the process for making housing land supply orders and the rezoning of land for housing."
