Many of Council's services will resume after lockdown is lifted

As our shire emerges from the COVID-19 lockdown, Kempsey Shire Council is resuming many of its services and facilities in a COVID-safe manner.

The Customer Service Centre will reopen for normal trading hours from 8.30am 4.30pm, however people will be required to wear a mask and check in to the premises. Council's Mobile Service Desk that visits town and village across the shire every Wednesday will resume its schedule.

The Waste Management Centre on Crescent Head Road and the Waste Transfer Stations in South West Rocks, Stuarts Point and Bellbrook are open. The ReUse Shop at the Waste Management Centre will reopen on Monday 13 September and the Community Recycling Centre trailer will also resume from week 1 on the revised schedule.

Kempsey Library will reopen with reduced services on Monday 20 September as Council has taken the opportunity during lockdown to bring forward major renovation. Residents can access the library from the rear of the building via the Council car park. The South West Rocks and Stuarts Point libraries will reopen from Tuesday 14 September.

Public amenities, sports fields, swimming pools, barbecues and community halls will reopen.

The Slim Dusty Centre and the Kempsey and South West Rocks Visitor Information Centres will remain closed.

Council want to remind residents that while some services and facilities have resumed, these will operate in compliance with relevant COVID-19 restrictions.
