How to avoid "death by powerpoint"

You know what we’re talking about.

Slide design that hasn’t been updated since 1995, text crammed into every inch of white space, excessive use of WordArt, and graphs. So. Many. Graphs.

But, here’s the good news... IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE THIS WAY.

SMC is here for you. We want your PowerPoint experiences to be good ones.

Here are some tips on how to make a great PowerPoint presentation:

1. One message per slide. Long paragraphs are not your friend here.

2. Use images. Guess what your audience is doing when words flash up on the screen? Reading them, as opposed to listening to you. Give them fewer words to read or use an image to illustrate your point.

3. Use fewer slides. Less for you to worry about, and less for your audience to be bamboozled by.

4. Think of your powerpoint as a supplementary tool, rather than the main event.

In even MORE good news, we have done the hard work for you, and created a fresh corporate PowerPoint deck.

Delete those old ugly ones from your share drive and enjoy!
