Wyndham City invites residents to share how they would like to play at Polly Parade Reserve when it opens later this year in Tarneit.
Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw, said she welcomed this new sporting space that aimed to keep residents active.
"We will have three sports fields for soccer and cricket, six tennis courts and cricket practice nets," she said. "This is in addition to lighting, pathways and the already completed children's play space and BBQ and picnic area."
"Feedback will guide the development of future clubs at the reserve, allowing interested community members to put their hand up to be part of the inaugural club working groups."
"It will also provide guidance regarding the age groups, values and experiences that are important to residents, as the new clubs look to tailor future programs at Polly Parade Reserve."
"We know that programmed sport helps boost community connections and wellbeing, we look forward to the reserve growing into a valued community asset."
"Located next to Bembit Bag-rook Community Centre, the reserve is expected to become a vibrant hub where people can come together to play, connect, and support one another."
This $12.3 million Wyndham City project is supported by a $50,000 grant from the Victorian Government and is part of Wyndham City's Tarneit North Community Precinct Master Plan.
