K-Pop Demon Hunters has become a golden hit, earning the title of the most popular animated film of all time on Netflix. It has captivated audiences both young and young at heart, leading to a limited theatrical release across the US, Canada, and the UK.
Following the global announcement of the film being shown in cinemas for a limited time in select territories, HOYTS Cinemas is proud to confirm it will be exclusively screening K-Pop Demon Hunters: Sing-Along Version for Australian and New Zealand audiences. These local screenings will coincide with the international run dates of Saturday 23 August and Sunday 24 August 2025.
This special event will give Australian and New Zealand fans the chance to enjoy the animated adventure in an interactive sing-along format, complete with on-screen lyrics, premium cinema sound and the electric energy of a theatre full of K-Pop fans.
HOYTS General Manager of Programming & Content Michelle Gater said being able to showcase this special release in cinemas allows fans the opportunity to experience it on a whole new level.

K-Pop Demon Hunters: Sing-Along Version tells the story of world-renowned K-Pop group, Huntr/x, where members Rumi, Mira and Zoey have secret identities as demon hunters. When they aren't selling out stadiums they're protecting their fans from supernatural dangers, including demons disguised as a rival boy band. The film is set with colourful backdrops, vibrant fashion and style, along with some very catchy K-Pop tunes.
The K-Pop Demon Hunters soundtrack recently topped both Australia's ARIA Albums Chart and New Zealand's Aotearoa Albums Chart. Both countries also share the current number one hit single 'Golden' on their respective charts, along with four other top ten singles from the soundtrack.
