Hydroponics store fire at Prospect

Police are investigating a fire at a hydroponics store at Prospect and a car fire at Lockleys overnight.

Police and MFS crews responded to reports of a business fire on Main North Road, Prospect about 3.15am on Wednesday 29 November.

Fire crews were quickly on scene and brought the fire under control, limiting damage to the premises.

There were no reported injuries.

Witnesses reported seeing several people acting suspiciously in the vicinity of the fire and a car took off. The car was seen heading west on Regency Road.

A patrol spotted a silver Honda sedan matching the description given by witnesses at the intersection of Grange Road and South Road, but quickly lost sight of it.

A short time later, just after 3.30am, emergency services were called to a car fire in Kingswood Crescent, Lockleys.

A silver Honda sedan had been torched. The vehicle was displaying stolen plates and inquiries are continuing to identify the car.

Police searched the area but did not locate any suspects.

Investigations are continuing to determine if the torched car is linked to the store fire.

Crime scene investigators will attend both scenes of fire this morning.
