IBAC charges three people in relation to electoral fraud investigation

Victoria's anti-corruption Commission, IBAC, today charged three people, including two former electorate officers previously employed by the Department of Parliamentary Services, with a total of 13 charges.

The charges relate to an IBAC investigation, Operation Naxos, into allegations of fraudulent practices within the electorate office of a former member of the Victorian Parliament.

The matter was referred to IBAC following a preliminary review by the Department of Parliamentary Services.

The charges relate to conspiracy to attempt to pervert the course of justice, perjury, conspiracy to mislead IBAC, and disclosure of IBAC information.

The first court date is scheduled at the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 9 January 2019.
