Wyndham City has brought the magic of ice skating to Werribee with a pop-up ice skating rink in the heart of Werribee City Centre opening today.
The fully-enclosed, all-weather pop-up rink will be open for 10 days over the winter school holidays, until 13 July.
Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw, said the new pop-up rink provides low-cost wintry fun for all ages.
"It's a great family-friendly activity to enjoy and at the same time visit our city centre and support local businesses."
"There are a range of fun themed skating sessions, DJ tunes and delicious winter fare on offer from local businesses to enjoy."
"Whether you're a seasoned skater or a beginner, it's a great chance to embrace the season and create some new memories with family and friends."
"Winter is traditionally a quiet time for local businesses and the pop-up ice skating rink will draw thousands of people into our city centre and encourage people to stay longer and explore local shops, restaurants, cafes and other businesses."
"It's a fantastic way for us to extend visitation and boost trade in the midst of winter and with the pop-up rink open from 10.30am - 8.30pm there will be a range of opportunities for local businesses to benefit across both daytime and evening trading hours."
Bookings for Werribee's pop-up ice skating rink are open. Tickets include skate hire and learn to skate equipment, just $5 for kids, $10 for adults and $25 for a family of four.
