It's now possible to walk, run or cycle uninterrupted from Bells Creek at Golden Beach to Wyanda Park at Bokarina thanks to a highly anticipated upgrade of the popular Coastal Pathway.
The Bokarina section now boasts a new elevated boardwalk, viewing platform with bar stools and rehabilitated bushland.
Sunshine Coast Council Division 3 Councillor Peter Cox said council's vision for the Coastal Pathway was to create a world-class asset, connecting communities, and enriching and diversifying the recreational experience of the Sunshine Coast.
"This icon of the Sunshine Coast integrates beaches, coastal lookouts, parks, local destinations, services and businesses right throughout the region," Cr Cox said.
"From Wurtulla to Bokarina council staff and contractors have been hard at work since earlier this year, beginning with the ongoing treatment of weeds and works to restore the bushland reserve.
"The new section of pathway is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the stunning natural beauty of our coastline.
"It has been designed to align around the native trees, stretching from Perina Street off Oceanic Drive (Beach Access 238) through to the existing Coastal Pathway at Driftwood Court (Beach Access 242).
"At almost one kilometre long, this section was the largest length of Coastal Pathway constructed at any one time to date."
Cr Cox said the new viewing platform had a roof for shade and seating for the community to enjoy the ocean views.
"I've already received many positive comments from locals about how much easier it has made getting to the beach and exploring the beautiful coastline," he said.
The Coastal Pathway is one of many recreational infrastructure projects delivered by council to help the Sunshine Coast community achieve a healthy, active and sustainable lifestyle.

• The Coastal Pathway is the Sunshine Coast's most popular shared pathway extending 73 kilometres from Bells Creek at Golden Beach in the south, to Coolum in the north.
• The Coastal Pathway is a key recreational and transport infrastructure asset aligned with Sunshine Coast Council's vision to become 'Australia's most sustainable region'.
• A shared pathway, it is designed for both pedestrians and cyclists to facilitate an active lifestyle and support community well-being.
