Illicit Drugs Seized At Modbury North

A Modbury North man is facing serious charges after police seized a large quantity of drugs from his home.

On Friday 5 April, Serious and Organised Crime Branch detectives searched an address in Modbury North. Officers seized approximately 520 grams of cocaine (pictured, wrapped in black plastic), 130 grams of methamphetamine (pictured), 100 MDMA (ecstasy) tablets and $162,000 in cash (pictured).

A 48-year-old Modbury North man from arrested and charged with trafficking in commercial quantities of methylamphetamine and cocaine, trafficking MDMA and money laundering.

He did not apply for bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court tomorrow, Monday 8 April.

Detective Superintendent Billy Thompson, Officer in Charge of Serious and Organised Crime Branch said, "Those who traffic in illicit drugs do so purely for their own greed and have absolutely no regard for the harm that they cause to our communities.

"SAPOL will be relentless in its pursuit of those who choose to profit from illicit drugs and will hold offenders to account for the misery they cause".
