Imitation firearm seized in Manor Lakes

Westgate Divisional Response Unit officers have charged a man after he allegedly attended a school in Manor Lakes with an imitation firearm earlier this week.

It is alleged the man was seen with a firearm at the school on Mindalee Road on Monday 14 and Tuesday 15 August.

He was allegedly seen brandishing the imitation firearm to students.

There were no injuries.

Police patrolled the area and allegedly located a man nearby in possession of a black imitation handgun, a knife and a quantity of drugs.

The 19-year-old Wyndham Vale man was arrested at the scene.

He's been released and is expected to be charged on summons at a later date.
