Imitation firearms seized in Bentleigh East

Police have charged a man with multiple offences after seizing nine imitation firearms from a property in Bentleigh East.

Detectives from Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit executed a search warrant at an address in Centre Road, Bentleigh East on 28 June.

Along with the imitation firearms, detectives also seized stolen identity documents and foreign currency.

A 50-year-old Bentleigh East man has been charged with:

- 2 counts of burglary

- 3 counts of theft

- 27 counts of obtain property by deception

- 10 counts of prohibited person possess imitation firearm

- handle stolen goods

- 5 counts of committing indictable offences whilst on bail

He was remanded in custody and will appear at Moorabbin Magistrates' Court on 12 July.
