Impound and arrest in Dandenong

Officers from the Dandenong Frontline Tactical Unit (FTU) impounded a vehicle and arrested a man in two separate incidents in Cranbourne last night.

The first incident occurred when officers from the Dandenong FTU observed a white Toyota Hilus in the car park of a shopping centre on High Street about 5.20pm.

Officers spoke to a 30-year-old Hampton Park man, and during their discussions, searched his vehicle.

They located a quantity of methylamphetamine inside the vehicle before the man was subsequently charged with possess and traffick methylamphetamine.

He was bailed to appear at Frankston Magistrates' Court on 4 May 2022.

Shortly after 7pm, officers intercepted a silver Holden on High Street as part of an operation targeting weapons offences.

The 19-year-old female driver from Cranbourne East returned an alleged positive evidentiary breath test of 0.189.

The woman who was a P2 driver, had her car impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1042.40

She is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving.

Officers from the Southern Metro Division 3 Frontline Tactical Unit, along with Transit Safety Division and local police, will continue to patrol the southern metro area as part of the ongoing operation.
