Officers from Greensborough Highway Patrol impounded a vehicle after the driver was caught allegedly speeding and drink driving this morning.
The 42-year-old Reservoir man was driving his grey Mazda sedan along Bolderwood Parade, when he was intercepted by police, just before 3.30am.
The vehicle was detected travelling at an alleged speed of 77km/h in a 60km/h zone.
The man also returned a positive evidentiary breath test of .217 and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $878.
He is expected to be charged on summons with driving under the influence, drink driving and speed offences.
