The inaugural Minister's Local Government Forum has been held today, offering a chance to discuss important topics impacting the sector statewide.

Minister for Local Government, Kerry Vincent, said it was always good to catch up with the sector.

"It is our common goal to ensure that the local government sector is both thriving and delivering for Tasmanians," Minister Vincent said.

"This is what the Minister's Local Government Forum is all about, and I welcome any opportunity to discuss and work through what the sector is facing in person.

"Today, the forum was provided with an opportunity to discuss how we are transforming the machinery of the state government through Building Tasmania.

"Alongside this, legislative reform, planning engagement, the use of AI and how we can accelerate collaboration provided for significant conversation.

"I want to thank every representative in the room for their hard work in improving Tasmania's local government sector."
