Incident at Kilkenny, South Australia

A man is in police custody following an incident at Kilkenny yesterday.

At about 3.30pm Friday 24 January the victim parked his black Harley Davidson motorcycle in the carpark of a Shopping Centre on Torrens Road. When the victim returned to his bike after being inside he allegedly saw a man riding the motorbike away.

The victim gave chase to a vacant lot on Grey Street where the suspect continued to ride until he was stopped by members of the public.

Police were called to assist and allegedly found the 20-year-old Royal Park man making threats with a pair of scissors. The man was tasered by police and taken into police custody. No members of the public were injured.

The man has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault, illegal use of motor vehicle, endanger life and carry offensive weapon. He has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a medical assessment where he remains.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing. The man is expected to be refused bail.
