Increase in building inspection days across shire: Bega Valley

Additional building inspections by Bega Valley Shire Council accredited certifiers will expedite building projects across the shire.

"We've increased the number of inspection days in several towns and villages, to better support our local building industry and residents currently building," Council's Certification and Compliance Manager, Tony Payne said.

"Inspection days in the towns of Tathra, Wallagoot, Bemboka, Wolumla, Bermagui, Quaama, Cobargo, Pambula and Pambula Beach have increased to five days a week; Monday through to Friday."

"Building inspections will now be carried out on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in Wonboyn, Wyndham, Rocky Hall, Burragate, Towamba and Boydtown."

Mr Payne said the changes will provide better response times and improve customer service.

"Council still requires a minimum of 48 hours' notice prior to carrying out inspections," he said.

"Building inspections can be booked using the online booking form on our website, saving time and providing more flexibility.

"Once the booking request has been submitted, a dedicated team member will check your details, book the accredited certifier and send you a confirmation text or email with the date and time."

All inspections are carried out in line with the NSW Public Health Orders.
