Police have charged a man after an alleged indecent assault in Margate yesterday morning.
At around 11am a 52-year-old woman was sitting in her car on Duffield Road when a man allegedly entered her vehicle before placing her in a headlock and indecently assaulting her.
A member of the public called on the man to stop, after which he left the vehicle and the woman left the scene.
Police spoke to the woman and conducted patrols of the area, taking a man into custody at the intersection of Duffield Road and Victoria Avenue at around 11:30am.
The 52-year-old woman received bruising and scratches during the incident but did not require medical attention.
The man and the woman were not known to each other.
A 34-year-old Kippa Ring man has been charged with two counts of an indecent act and one count each of common assault, assault occasioning bodily harm, enter premises and commit an indictable offence and obstruct police.
He is due to appear in Redcliffe Magistrates Court today.
