The Territory Labor Government will strengthen its agricultural ties and workforce connection with a delegation to Indonesia, to be led by Minister for Agribusiness and Fisheries Paul Kirby.
The delegation will also look at strengthening its biosecurity knowledge with Indonesia and will include a biosecurity roundtable meeting with industry, government from Thursday December 8.
The three-day trip will also focus on bi-lateral government and industry engagement to support established trade relationships, building on workforce attraction measures and promoting cross cultural awareness and engagement between the Territory and Indonesia.
The delegation will also meet with the Indonesian pastoral studies students who spent 10 weeks learning about biosecurity measures from Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade staff, which was part of the Indonesia Northern Territory Biosecurity Partnership which aims to share biosecurity knowledge.
Northern Territory Representative to Indonesia, Mr Yudistira Adipratama will also participate in the delegation.
Mr Adipratama who will provide advice on engagement, business, trade and investment opportunities with Indonesia to assist the Territory business delegation.
The delegation follows on from the Australia Indonesia Business Council conference in Darwin last month, which saw more than 250 Australian and Indonesian business executives and government leaders attend the 3-day event to gain insights into trade and investment opportunities in Indonesia.
