Information sought on suspicious fire - Somersby

Police are appealing for information following a suspicious fire on the Central Coast at the weekend.

Emergency services were called to Myoora Road, Somersby, shortly before 5.30am on Saturday (1 May 2021), after smoke was seen coming from a shed.

Crews from the Rural Fire Service attended and extinguished the blaze; however, the building was destroyed, along with a heavy tow vehicle and trailer stored inside, with damage estimated at $750,000.

Officers from Brisbane Water Police District attended and established a crime scene.

As investigations continue, anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the nearby area or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage is urged to contact Gosford Police or Crime Stoppers.
