Inquiry response - Council Dining Room

City of Perth Commissioners acknowledge this week's developments of the public inquiry.

Since Commissioners were appointed in March 2018, the dining room has not been used.

Chair Commissioner Eric Lumsden said that the closure of the Council Dining Room was one of the first actions taken by the Commissioners.

"The use, and the availability for use of the Council Dining Room by Elected Members is a dated entitlement, and one that is simply unacceptable," Chair Commissioner Lumsden said.

"It was agreed unanimously to close the dining room, and reduce the Elected Member reimbursement entitlements upon appointment.

"Ratepayers deserve value for the rates they pay, and reimbursement for dining, as well as a dedicated venue to dine with stakeholders within Council House, does not align with community expectations."
