Inquiry underway after man arrives at hospital with gunshot wounds at Bankstown

An investigation is underway after a man presented himself to Bankstown Hospital this morning suffering gunshot wounds.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command were called to the hospital just after midnight (Friday 10 April 2020), after a 22-year-old man sought treatment for gunshot wounds to his left knee and abdomen.

The man has since undergone surgery and is now in a stable condition.

Two crime scenes were established at Bankstown Hospital and Antwerp Street, where a car was seized for forensic examination.

The incident is now being investigated by detectives, who are appealing for anyone with information to call Bankstown Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
