The Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre has launched an interactive exhibition in the Kings Floor Gallery - Barnbul opened 8 November 2025, on show until 26 January 2026. Barnbul is the Bunganditj word for 'blossom' and was chosen for the room by the Bunganditij Language Reclamation Committee.
The interactive space was created to complement the two First Nations exhibitions current on display, Saltbush Country - A Country Arts SA touring exhibition and our own curated exhibition, Big Sky which are on display until Sunday 18 January 2026.
This space is an elevated, grounding art room for all ages to connect, create, and enjoy quiet time. A calm, creative place to explore the native flora of the Limestone Coast, draw, weave, or spend time with local Elders. - Audience Development Lead Rachel Burke.
Barnbul is a celebration of the Limestone Coast's native flora and its uses and has been a collaborative project with many local First Nations elders and artists.
This exhibition is an interactive family-friendly space inviting people to spend time drawing botanical or still life natives, contributing to the collaborative weaving installation and spending time in the yarning circle.
A varied program will run throughout the next six weeks with opportunities to join elders and artists for weaving workshops, cooking demonstrations and sessions on native plants and their uses.
