Intercept unveils drugs and weapons in Officer

A speeding driver intercepted in Officer has been caught out with weapons and drugs in his vehicle yesterday, Victoria Police say.

Pakenham police spotted the Volkswagen Golf allegedly travelling at more than 150km/h along the Princes Highway just after midnight.

The car was intercepted, with police locating a firearm, conducted energy device and ammunition.

Quantities of amphetamine and cannabis were also seized.

A 26-year-old man from Hampton Park was arrested at the scene.

He has been charged with prohibited person possess firearm and other weapon and drug-related offences, and was bailed to appear at Dandenong Magistrate’s Court on 1 November.
