We are looking for Murray-Darling Basin First Nations Peoples to join the Aboriginal Water Entitlements Program interim governance arrangements.
Interim governance arrangements are scheduled to roll over at the end of 2025.
Positions will be available in the Advisory Group and Directorate.
There are also 2 new Associate Director positions available to emerging leaders aged 25 to 40 years.
This is a chance to contribute to a $100 million Basin wide water entitlement initiative. Ensuring First Nations leadership in water ownership and governance. Your voice will shape policies and decision-making in the Basin's water future.
Please consider applying if you:
- have a connection to or understanding of the Murray-Darling Basin
- identify and are accepted as a Traditional Owner in the Basin and have place-based knowledge
- have knowledge of water issues in the Basin, including Cultural water knowledge and basic knowledge of how water is used and allocated, infrastructure, policy, strategy and planning of water on Country.
We will build a merit pool of suitable candidates for future opportunities.
Roles are only available to Traditional Owners of the Murray-Darling Basin.
