International Rugby Lights Up Verge St Oval

Kempsey Shire Council was pleased to welcome international rugby teams to Verge St Oval as part of the Coffs Coast Festival of Rugby, delivering a high-quality sporting experience for the local community.

The event provided a fantastic opportunity for residents and visitors to attend and enjoy world-class rugby in Kempsey, with a strong turnout reflecting the community's enthusiasm and support.

Council extends its sincere thanks to the organisers of the Coffs Coast Festival of Rugby for bringing this event to the region and contributing to the activation of local sporting facilities and community engagement.

On the field, Japan U23 recorded a 42–31 win over the Australian Stockman in a competitive and entertaining match. This was followed by a dominant performance from Australia U20, who secured a 55–21 victory against Fiji U20.

Council congratulates all participating teams on their performances and thanks Coffs Coast Festival of Rugby, Kempsey Cannonballs, Macleay Valley Mustangs, NSW Rugby, volunteers, Council staff and match officials for making this event possible.
