The Pilbeam Theatre's 2026 Morning Melodies season kicks off in February with an intimate tribute that brings to life one of the most soul-stirring voices of our time.

Audiences will be mesmerised as Bloom delivers heartfelt renditions of Eva Cassidy's most beloved songs, including Songbird, Time After Time, Fields of Gold, Over the Rainbow, and many more.

With sold-out tours across Australia and New Zealand, Bloom has earned acclaim as one of Australia's finest vocalists, captivating audiences with her rich, soulful voice and heartfelt performances.

Rockhampton audiences loved her previous Morning Melodies show Bloom Sings Stevie Nicks, Carole King and Linda Ronstadt in 2021.

Eva Cassidy's story is as moving as her music. Despite her extraordinary talent, she spent much of her life in obscurity, unable to secure a record deal due to her eclectic style. She self-released her only solo album, Live at Blues Alley, in 1996. Tragically, Eva passed away from melanoma at just 33 years old, never witnessing the impact her music would later have.

Two years after her death, her breathtaking covers of Fields of Gold and Over the Rainbow gained worldwide attention. Posthumous releases, championed by Blix Street Records, saw her album Songbird become an international sensation, reaching #1 across multiple countries and selling over 12 million copies globally.

Through this beautiful tribute, Bloom honours Eva Cassidy's quiet brilliance and enduring legacy, sharing the heartfelt music of an artist who left us too soon but left behind a body of work that continues to inspire the world today.

Morning Melodies: Bloom Sings Eva Cassidy will be performed at the Pilbeam Theatre on Monday 23 February at 11am. A free morning tea will be available from 10am.

Tickets are now on sale from the Pilbeam Theatre Box Office, by phone on 4927 4111 and at www.seeitlive.om.au.

Morning Melodies is presented by Rockhampton Regional Council.
