Investigation continues after man stabbed - North Parramatta

A man remains in a serious condition, and an investigation is underway, after a stabbing in Sydney's west at the weekend.

About 1.50pm on Saturday (29 August 2020), emergency services were called to O'Connell Street, North Parramatta, after reports a man had been stabbed.

Officers attached to Parramatta Police Area Command attended, along with NSW Ambulance paramedics, and treated a 48-year-old man for wounds to the back of his head and nose.

He was taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition where he remains.

Following inquiries, detectives attended Galloway Street, North Parramatta, and established a crime scene which has been examined by forensic officers.

As investigations continue, police would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 50s, between 180cm and 185cm tall, of medium build, with red hair. At the time he was wearing a grey top, jeans and a brown hat.
